Beach academy is a great way to get outdoors, learn and have fun! It’s not only fun for the kids but adults love it too!
In fact we had great fun today learning about the sharks in the UK, I was shocked to find out that there are 19 species of sharks in the UK alone! We are looking forward to our next session!
Here in Wales, beach academy has so much to offer! It is mainly at Rest bay – Porthcawl beach, unless stated otherwise.

As you can see, Roman really enjoyed himself at home-ed beach academy today, where he learnt about Sharks and their anatomy.
Founding Director Emma Lamport has always had a passion for the natural world and the coastal environment and wanted others to connect with it. Back in 2013, as a ranger for the Heritage Coast, she set up a little voluntary marine wildlife club for kids called Seaside Rangers before setting up Beach Academy as a sole trader in 2017.
By the end of 2020, BA became a social enterprise. A Community Interest Company committed to connecting children and their families to the coast and blue planet through environmental and marine education programmes, coastal activity days, teacher training, courses, family events and lots lots more!
From volunteers to active directors, BA team members, all give their time for what we believe. That children need to be outdoors and learning from nature. Becoming ocean literate citizens with the knowledge and opportunity to conserve our blue planet for future generations.
